Writing |

I am a fiction writer and essayist. I hold the master’s in creative writing, with distinction, from the University of Oxford. I have explored various topics in my stories and essays, such as language and identity, fibroids, and orthodontics. My work has been published – in English and Spanish – in magazines and anthologies in the UK, Australia, the USA and Spain. Including in the Bath Spa University affiliated Transnational Literature (UK), Prairie Schooner (USA) and as a finalist in the Aesthetica Creative Writing Prize (UK). My debut story and essay collectionA Line Drawn or Printed: Six Routes Through Madrid, was published in June 2025 by Modern Odyssey Books.

Editing |

I am Associate Editor of The Madrid Review, where I also write a regular column about the craft of writing. Previously I worked as an editor at the large Spanish publisher, Santillana. For one year, I was Visiting Professor at Bath Spa University, working as a volunteer editor on the journal Transnational Literature. I am part of the peer review panel for the Artist’s Book Yearbook, published annually by Books Arts at the University of the West of England, Bristol. For one year I was Creative Nonfiction Editor at Litro Magazine and in 2019 I completed an editorial internship at Creative Nonfiction magazine, based in Pittsburgh, USA. 

Other details |

I am co-host of the Literary Fiction Room at the London Writers’ Salon, helping and engaging community members in discussion and learning at the intersection of what we read and what we write. I have worked as a mentor with Fusion Arts, giving sessions to young people in vulnerable situations who are interested in creative writing. I was a volunteer first reader for the Highland Book Prize for the 2022 awards.

I am from the UK but I currently live in Madrid.
